What is Westshore Healing?
It’s hard to resist the siren song of self-improvement. We often think we need to be better, smarter, faster, stronger—some perfected version of ourselves—in order to reach the next rung of worthiness. But what riches might we discover if we redirected our energies toward embracing all of who we already are?
Welcome to the ordinary magic of nondual healing and awakening.
Westshore Healing offers classes and supportive community to integrate healing and awakening into your daily life.
Breathe new life into old thoughts. Open your heart and mind to more connection with life. Follow your heart back to the wellspring of creativity and compassion that resides within us all.

What is duality?
Duality refers to the human tendency to split the world into opposites—hot and cold, tall and short, big and small, light and dark, good and bad. Although this is a useful skill that helps us make sense of the world, it can at times intensify our feelings of separation from others and the rich tapestry of life.
The never-ending search for meaning can be a symptom of this separation: “meaning” is always elsewhere, while we are adrift in a sea of meaninglessness and uncertainty.
What is nonduality?
Nonduality asserts that duality is illusory and that reality is a single, indivisible whole. This indivisible whole—which some schools of Hinduism and East Asian Buddhism describe as “Indra’s Net”—is made up of infinite jewels of reality whose facets illuminate each other and are dependent on each other for their very existence.
We sometimes get glimpses of this when we are in nature and feel our intrinsic connection to the web of life. Or we encounter a work of art that startles and nourishes us into a new perspective. Like a rock climber scaling the face of a boulder, we are less concerned with our usual preoccupations of this human and that boulder but rather become more keenly aware of the dynamic interplay between ourselves and the elements around us: skin and muscle, wind and stone, carabiner and rope, as we invent our route up the mountain.
Ordinary life is no different than the climber on the rock face.
Why do we care about nonduality?
Nondual consciousness can soften our dualistic perception of separation and allow us to navigate the highs and lows we inevitably face in ourselves and an imperfect world. It helps us build tolerance for internal dissonance, creating more bandwidth to consider how we might best respond to people and situations. Nondual practices can also help us cultivate greater presence in our daily lives, which awakens the senses and inspires us to partake of more of what is available to us. In other words, we can more fully inhabit our own lives.
The classes we teach at Westshore Healing are designed to bring this awareness to your ordinary life.
What is nondual healing?
Nondual Healing brings about transformation through transmission of nondual consciousness. This transmission is not based on the exchange of information or application of techniques but occurs on a deeper level, facilitating a direct experience of unity and wholeness.
Rather than seeing the human ego as something that needs to be conquered, transcended, or constantly improved upon, Nondual Healing seeks to heal the human ego so that it can take its rightful place in the kaleidoscope of life.
Nondual healing encourages us to befriend and reclaim aspects of ourselves that we would rather banish. It invites us to bring our curiosity, kindness and compassion to explore dissonance and conflict within ourselves, in our relationships with others, and in the world at large.
Nondual Healing is based on the understanding that at the deepest level of reality, there is no separation between healer, the healee, and the healing process itself. It acknowledges the fundamental unity and interconnectedness of all existence.
Will I stop suffering?
Although we will never be able to eliminate our suffering entirely, cultivating nondual consciousness can change our relationship to our suffering, providing some breathing room so that it no longer serves as a monolithic barrier to freedom.
From a Nondual Healing perspective, our suffering often contains the seeds of our healing.
We all fantasize about what life would be like without the people and situations that plague us. However, freedom cannot reliably depend on the magical annihilation of obstacles. The more steadfast kindness is the ordinary magic of freedom with rather than freedom from our limitations and encumbrances.
